Taking credit reporting actions on an account
The Collector System enables you to report credit information about an individual to any credit reporting agency, including the major credit reporting agencies: Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union.
The Collector System reports accounts to credit reporting agencies when they become delinquent. If you are reporting accounts manually or automatically, use caution; to avoid legal ramifications or jeopardizing confidential customer information, review the following before reporting accounts:
- Section 623 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act
- Credit reporting laws
- Credit reporting agency settings within The Finvi
The Collector System enables you to take credit reporting action on any account you choose. You can:
- Request or reinstate credit reporting
- Stop or cancel credit reporting
- Report disputes and resolutions
- Resend a cancellation, dispute, or resolution to the credit reporting agencies, if needed (for example, if a credit reporting update fails, and you need to send it to the credit reporting agencies again).
