Configuring collector or support desks

A collector desk is a standard desk used by collectors to work accounts. The Collector System allows you to create two types of collector desks: collector and support.

When a collector needs a supervisor to review an account, the collector sends the account to a support desk worked by that supervisor. The supervisor can review the account, hold it pending more information, send it back to the original collector, or send it to a new collector. Also, your agency may have collectors send all accounts that need to be traced to the current customer's location (known as skip tracing) to a skip trace support desk. Support desk numbers are preceded by an asterisk, (example: *2).

Usually, after an account is transferred to a support desk, the account is removed from the collector's WIP and the collector can no longer work the account. The only exception to this is if you allow the collector to work the account while it is at the support desk.
