Advanced authentication methods

Starting with The Collector System 2018, authentication can be handled outside of The Collector System. What this means for you, is that The Collector System can use your organization's rules and procedures regarding passwords and credentialing.

The Collector System offers two advanced authentication methods, depending on your needs.

  • Direct access is an authentication method that links a system user (ex: JDoe) to a login within The Collector System.
  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) gives organizations the ability to leverage groups to manage access.

Direct access is available at the time of The Collector System 2018 installation, but LDAP relies on the Cloud phantom service. To install the Cloud phantom service, contact your Finvi Support representative.

Direct access

When enabled, the direct access feature allows the administrator to link a system user to a login within The Collector System. Users who are set up with direct access log in to The Collector System without the need to enter a user login.

LDAP groups

When enabled, the LDAP groups feature allows the administrator to link groups to a login with The Collector System and prioritize the groups. Users who are members of a configured group log in to The Collector System without the need to enter a user login.
