Combining clients

The Collector System provides several features for you to combine statistics from two or more clients. Typically, this is used when a corporation has several branches and they would like to see totals for the corporation as a whole. Statements, the Client Inventory report, the History report, Acknowledgments, and Cancellation notices all have the capability to be combined, using several fields in the Client Control Record.

When you use these options, all transactions from this client are printed on the statement, and statistics are reported on the same reports or notices of the client number you enter in these fields. When two or more client statements are combined, you can also direct the system to send only one check, if desired.

To combine client statistics, determine which client is going to be the one that the statistics are combined for and enter that client number in the corresponding client control record field for the other clients.

For example, to print inventories for GEN100, VAN250, and OAL815 on the inventory of GEN100:

  1. Enter GEN100 in the client control record field 155 for VAN250 and OAL815.
  2. Make sure client control record field 155 for GEN100 is blank.

If you combine client statements, both clients must have the same statement frequency. The 100. Curr Stmt Freq and 101. New Stmt Freq fields of the Client Control Record must be identical for both clients. When AR aging buckets are combined, the totals of the previous client are incorporated into the correct bucket.
