Managing the time window
The Time window is not a window on the screen, but an interval of time during which accounts on the time list are worked. It begins at a set time and ends at the current time. This window is used to work timed account outside the normal parameters. You can work account scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.; or if you are behind on the time list and to skip ahead, you can set the start time for later. Be aware that if you skip ahead you will need to reset the time back to your normal time period.
Accounts in the time window have both an entry in the Date Work Again field that is equal to or before the current date and an entry in the Time To Work field that is equal to or before the current time. For example, if it is 10:05 a.m., records that have a time between 12:01 a.m. (the starting time) and 10:05 (the current ending time) are brought up to work.
When there are several records in a time window, they display in time-to-work order. A message appears to let you know how many additional records on the time list are ready to be worked.
This section describes how to change the starting time of the time window.
Be aware of the following when entering times in this screen:
- The system assumes times from 8:00 to 11:59 are a.m. It assumes times from 12:00 to 7:59 are p.m. To enter times outside these ranges, type AM or PM or A or P after the time.
- A whole number is assumed to be an hour. The system adds a colon (:), two zeros, and AM or PM. If the time includes minutes, enter the colon and minutes.
