Logging in and out

Before you can use The Collector System, you must create a user login. You should create a user login word or phrase that only you know. For maximum security, your agency may ask you to create a password as well. Memorize your user login and password, avoid writing them down, and avoid using personal information that someone could guess.

The most secure user logins and passwords contain a large number of characters including upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols and they do not contain personal information. Use combinations such as X9FHqIUl8, 2*PQ$Hgbn, and L&7TyOqaj, which contain letters, multiple numbers, and symbols. For more information, see Menu 10.1.6 - Passwords.

User logins and passwords can contain any number of characters except five, which is reserved for use by Finvi.

When you finish using The Collector System, you must log out. Logging in and out is important because it provides security, accountability, and data for reporting purposes.

The Collector System may automatically log you out if you have been away from your computer for a certain length of time.
