Using the calculator
The Collector System includes a calculator that you can access from the Account prompt or the Name field. You can enter up to 11 digits in a calculation including decimal points. Do not enter a comma since it is used as the multiplication sign.
The calculator is automatically set to addition mode when you start it. For this reason, the plus sign (+) displays in the Amt: field. When you type the numbers and press Enter, the total displays automatically in the Tot: field. When using arithmetic functions other than addition, you must precede the amount with the proper function symbol.
The Collector System calculator keeps a running total, regardless of the variety of arithmetic functions used to obtain the total.
The Collector System does provide some calculator shortcuts. When using any arithmetic symbol other than the plus sign, each time you press Enter the system continues to display the plus sign. To avoid having to repeatedly type another calculation symbol before each new amount, press the equal sign (=) instead of Enter. The Collector System will compute the result (sum, product, quotient, etc.) and display it in the Tot field. The Amt field displays the symbol just used. You can enter another symbol at any time.
