Enabling or disabling closing the CU·Emulate window

Closing the CU·Emulate window prevents the user from properly logging off The Collector System. When a user does not log off properly, The Collector System does not release the license so that other users can log on. If this happens enough times, you may lock all users out due to lack of available licenses.

By default, the close window button (red X) at the top right-corner of the CU·Emulate window is grayed out, showing that it is disabled, as shown below.

If your agency allows users to close the CU·Emulate window, use this option to enable the close window button. You can also use this option again to disable the button again if you have enabled it at some point.

To enable or disable closing the CU·Emulate window:

  1. From the Master menu, navigate to Management Strategy > Agency > Misc. Setup Routines (menu 10.1.15).

  2. In the Miscellaneous Setup Routines window, select Close CU·Emulate window, and press Enter or click Ok.
  3. At the Disable cancel (red X) button on CU*Emulate window? prompt, do one of the following:
    • To allow users to close the CU·Emulate window, click No.
    • To prevent users from closing the CU·Emulate window, click Yes.
  4. To finish making the change, log out of The Collector System, and close the CU·Emulate window. For more information, see Logging out.
  5. Log back in to The Collector System. For more information, see Logging in.
