Entering posting amounts in Amount fields

When entering amounts, use the following conventions:

• Do not use a dollar sign ($). As a shortcut, you can enter even dollar amounts without the decimal and two zeros. For example, the amount $75 can be entered as 75. When entering dollars and cents, use a decimal point.

• When posting negative amounts, use a minus sign. For example, when posting a reversal of $12.50 enter -12.5. For more information, see Reversals and cancellations.

  When posting using an NSF transaction code, do not use a minus sign.

• Principal and interest must be posted separately unless you use spreadsheet posting. For more information, see Using spreadsheet posting.
