Menu 10.4.49 - Attempt Window Setup

The contact management feature in The Collector System stores all the contact types, attempts, and results for an account in the Personal Contacts screen. You can display a history of this same information in the Collector screen using a Contact Attempts window. For example, you can show a user how many times the agency sent a letter to the account or how many phone calls your agency placed to the account over the last week and the result of those attempts—all without leaving the Collector screen.

You must enable the contact management feature, which was released in The Collector System 2014, to use the Contact Attempts windows. For more information, see Setting up contact management.

You customize the information that displays in the Contact Attempts window by first creating a contact attempt filter. When you add a filter, you define the type of contacts (phone, email, letter, and so on) and the time period the contact attempts were made (daily, weekly, monthly, and so on). You can make the filter as broad or narrow as you need, depending on the information you want to show. For more information, see Creating or changing contact attempt filters.

After you create the filter, you then add a Contact Attempts window. You configure the window by selecting the desk to assign the window to, the filter to use, and whether the contact attempt resulted in a success, reach, and/or fail. You can add up to six Contact Attempts windows and each can display a maximum of seven lines. In each line, you specify the contact attempt filter to use and the type of result to show. In the example below, P in the Result column represents Phone and [A] represents all of the results types. The column can also display [S] for success, [R] for reach, [F] for fail, or a combination of the three. For example, [SR] for success and reach.

In the following example, a fictitious agency, Lake Assets, first creates a contact attempt filter in Menu 10.5.58 (Contact Codes) to show home phone contact attempts their agency made last week during normal business hours.

Next, Lake Assets adds a Contact Attempts window, and in window 1, line 1, selects the Home filter they created in Menu 10.5.58 - Contact Codes.

Lake Assets then selects the results to show for the contact attempts made to the home phone number. They want to show all of the results—successes, reaches, and fails.

A user can view this information in the Collector screen by using command WAT at the CMD prompt to display the Contact Attempts window. The Contact Attempts window is just another tool to help the user decide the best way to contact the account and provide insight into how easy or difficult it may be to reach the account. For more information, see Displaying the Contact Attempts window.
