If your agency uses The Collector System 2014 contact management feature, the screen may display Preferred and/or Prioritized restrictions in the prompt. This tells you that you should only attempt to contact the account on specific days and/or times, or you need to contact the customer by attempting to call each phone number listed in the account in a certain order, or a combination of both. The following table describes the meaning of each description in the prompt:

    Contact restriction type

    Description

    Preferred

The account has one or more phone numbers that specify days and/or times users may have the most success in reaching a customer.

For example, a customer tells a collector at Lake Assets that the best time to reach them is at home after 2 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The collector sets the specific contact times for the home phone for those days and times.

To view the phone numbers that have preferred contact times for the account, see Viewing contact times for an account.

    Prioritized

When contacting a customer, you must call the phone numbers for an account in a specific order.

For example, a collector at Lake Assets needs to call the employer number first before calling the home number.

To view the order of the phone numbers to call for the account, see Viewing the contact sequence and contact attempt details of an account.

    Prohibited

The account has one or more phone numbers that specify days and/or times users should not attempt to contact a customer.

For example, a customer tells a collector at Lake Assets that they work nights and sleep during the day, so they request that they not be called at home until after 4 PM. The customer also says that the work phone should never be called. The collector sets two prohibited contacts restrictions; one for the home phone, and a different restriction for the employer number.

To view the phone numbers that have prohibited contact times for the account, see Setting preferred or prohibited contact times for an account.
